London Edge- September 2015

London Edge- September 2015

LondonEdge has always been an event that sings to my soul. A collection of designers and brands showcasing their up and coming fashion and lifestyle collections for the punk, rock, goth and those who like an alternative edge to their style. I was pleased to see that this September they were back at Islington Business Design Centre with three floors to feast my eyes upon. This season we saw the likes of fashion giants Motel displaying items for the upcoming months and S/S 2016 and I was extremely excited to see they have collaborated with one of my favourite tattoo artists Grace Neutral (collection to be released in November, more on this later!). Some of my old favourites were there along the lines of Killstar, Iron Fist and Too Fast Clothing which have ranges from the dark and witchy to the bright and colourful for those who like to mix it up!

I was also really pleased to see some designers and brands there that I’ve been following for a while such as The Church of Sanctus, Social Decay, Y.R.U, Lip Service Cult and Nympha. Keep an eye on them, buy some of their stuff and watch these labels shoot up into the edgy fashion stratosphere.

What trends can we expect in the next few months you may well ask? Well, from what I researched at the show there is a lot of sequins in the form of embellishments, patches and dresses (you MUST check out the AWESOME Ragged Priest jacket below!), Kewpie featured quite heavily for a few brands, mermaids, Tiki prints, Glitter, lurex, floral prints with slogans sewn in and of course plenty of rock inspired T’s and printed leggings. Velore and faux fur also featured heavily for A/W 2015.

DSCF9708LondonEdge totally exceeded my expectations this year. The event just keeps getting better and better and I can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag next time.

It was such a brilliant day, my wishlist is now filled with the weird mixture of unicorns, fur and leather!
